ANN KELLY Obituary

Funeral services for Ms Marcia Ann Kelly will be conducted at 10 am Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 am until service time. Burial will follow at Wing Cemetery at Wayside Church in Wing, AL.

On March 24, 2024, Ms Marcia Ann Kelly entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family. She was born June 26, 1948, in Escambia Farms to James Grady “Red” & Ruby Lee Barrow.  In addition to her parents, Ms Ann is preceded in death by grandparents, Wayland Carlton Barrow & Annie Beatrice Bogan, Charlie Henry Cogburn & Lemar Sylvana Gatlin; her first husband, Lester G. George Sr. and her second husband, Charles A. Kelly; her brothers, Waymond & Charlie Barrow; sisters, Olean Rathel and Obera Batson; daughters, Leslie Annette George Moore and Stephenie Kelly Moore.

Ms. Ann’s memory will be forever cherished by her family; son, Lester G. George Jr.; daughter, Rita Kelly Gray and her husband, Michael; her brother, Garland and his wife Karen; sister Jewel Bell; sister-in-law, Brenda Barrow Aughtman; Aunt Ramona Barrow; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, James Andrew Moore and his wife, Melissa; Jay Anthony Moore and his wife, Evenlyn, Lester G. George III, Katherine George, Justin George, Dewayne Moore, and Eva Moore; Great-Grands, Josephine and Lexi Moore; nephew Grady Rathel plus numerous more nephews and nieces, extended family and friends that loved Ms. Ann.

Ms Ann dedicated her life to serving others. She worked at Okaloosa Memorial Hospital, Crestview Convalescence Center before it changed to Crestview Rehabilitation Center, as an attendant at the Okaloosa County Rest Area, and finally North Okaloosa Medical Center retiring after 37 years of faithful service. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching game shows or Hallmark Channel, and attending church.  Above all her favorite pastimes, family gatherings were Ms. Ann’s favorite, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grands.   While the family takes comfort in knowing that the earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal.
