Agnes Jean Barnes Kolmetz went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020. Jean was born March 1, 1930 as one of 7 children. Her father, Eaf Barnes, was a commercial fisherman and her mother, Dora, was a devoted housewife.
Jean started her walk with the Lord at the age of 14 and continued faithfully until her passing.
In 1947, Jean met Thomas Victor Kolmetz, Sr. They were married for almost 67 years until T.V. went to be with the Lord in 2013. Along the way, they had 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Together they pastored numerous churches and served the Lord with passion until their final days. Jean loved babies. She taught Sunday school and children’s church and eventually established a daycare, Kolmetz Kiddie Kastle in the 80’s and 90’s.
Jean had 6 babies of her own. She is survived by three sons, Thomas Victor Kolmetz, Jr (wife Ann), Douglas Michael Kolmetz, Sr. (wife Melba), and Karl Kloudt Kolmetz; three daughters, Rebekah Joe Metcalf (husband Donald), Stephney Rheajeanna Sexton(husband Wade), and Eaphie Adora Geissel (husband Warren); 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Due to the Coronavirus requirements, a private graveside service for the immediate family will be held later this week.
Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
