Aino "Nicky" M. Marcotte

Aino “Nicky” M. Marcotte gained her angle wings July 27, 2022. She was born April 29, 1946 in Toholampi, Finland to Taimi and Eino Salo. She will join them in heaven along with her brothers Antero and Alpo Salo. She and her family came to America when she was 5 after being sponsored by her family in Massachusetts. She attended school and eventually met her husband Frank in drivers education. Their time in the Coast Guard and commercial transportation took them on many great adventures. She had award wining careers which included time at Raivaaja Finnish newspaper in Fitchburg, MA, NASA at Moffett Federal Airfield, CA, the County Clerks office in San Rafael, CA, Escambia County Police Department in Pensacola, FL, and Okaloosa County offices in Fort Walton and Crestview, FL amongst others. In 2009 she retired. She leaves behind her husband Francis T Marcotte, daughter Michelle L Brookins and son-in-law Terry E Brookins Jr, and her granddaughter Riley L Brookins. Also left behind are many beloved family members as well as others that considered her a second mom. She was a women with Sisu which is Finnish for great strength, tenacity of purpose, stoic determination, grit, bravery, resilience and hardiness. She was kind, patient, devoted and was loved by all that knew her. Aino will be missed but will forever be in our hearts.
