We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Alicia Enoveso Harden “Alice” who transitioned on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Her precious memories shall exist in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Alice was born on August 28, 1958; she was the seventh of eleven children to the late Mr. & Mrs. Vincente and Prima Enoveso. She was a native of San Miguel, Leyte, Philippines, and in 1977 she moved to California.
The year 1979 was a great year for Alice as she married Earl W. Harden Jr. and from this union two beautiful girls were born. As a military wife, she traveled the world living in England and Germany. Alice worked for AAFES for many years. She retired after 27 years of service.
To cherish her memories, Alice leaves a loving husband Ret. CMSGT Earl W. Harden, a son, Ret. MSGT Curtis E. Shorter (Heidi), two daughters, Jennifer J. Harden and Jessica J. McTear (Jesse). In addition, four brothers Arturo, Ebit, Vicente “Olay”, and Ernesto; six sisters, Connie, Lena (deceased), Briren, Ellen, Esing, and Gilda.
Alice is known affectionally as Grandma by her seven grandchildren, boys Curtis Shorter, Marquette McQueen, Ty Shorter, Levi Shorter, girls Jayden McQueen, Jezayah McTear, and Jayahna McTear. They will always remember her heartfelt compliments, encouragements, and tasty meals made with love. She will also be missed by a host of in- laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She loved to spend countless hours in her garden. Her neighbors will miss the curb appeal with the gorgeous flowers and captivating landscape. Alice loved to entertain and was known for her Filipino cuisine which included her famous lumpia, fried rice, and pancit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home on Friday October 28, 2022, eat 4pm. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 3pm.
