Alvin Gentsch age 89 of Crestview passed away on March 14, 2022, at Carrington Manor. He was born in Englewood, CO on July 13, 1932, to Henry & Barbara Gentsch. Alvin served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years and was a pilot, taught school, was in maintenance and served as the Squadron Commander. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked 11 years in Civil Service. Alvin attended First Presbyterian Church Crestview and Niceville Presbyterian Church. He loved to paint and loved to learn new things especially if it involved working with his hands. Alvin loved working on cars and fixing them up. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Hank Gentsch.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 66 years Evelyn Gentsch; children: Sam Genstch and wife Regina McEwen; Karla Maddux and husband Craig; sister Elizabeth Kulaba; grandchildren: Erik Hurter, Laura Chandler and Ella Youdelman; great grandchildren: Kyron Hurter, Karleigh Hurter, Kaia Chandler, and Sloan Chandler.
A private family service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL
