Obituary
Ani Powell, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. She was born on December 1, 1955 in Defuniak Springs, Florida to Demps and Hazzie Powell. She was a long time resident of the area. Ani worked as a nurse for thirty plus years, she enjoyed cookouts, crocheting but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ani is survived by the father of her children, Donald R. York; daughters, Angie Wehrly and Donna Freeman; son, Donald W. York; brother, Jimmy Harold and several other brothers and sisters; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Chance and Nicholas along with 6 great grandchildren.
Atime of visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1:00-2:00pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with funeral service starting at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.
