Anthony Lavon Nelson

  Anthony Lavon Nelson, age 37, of Crestview passed away September 29, 2023 in Pensacola, FL. He was born on January 17, 1986 in Milton, FL.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Nelson;  uncle, Paul Nelson and aunt, Susan Brooks.  Anthony leaves behind his children, Alexis Nelson, Kyra Nelson,  Ethan Nelson and Layne Phillips along with numerous extended family and friends.

Anthony loved his career at the Department of Corrections where he was a valued officer. He took great pride in his work.

He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying freshwater fishing for catfish, brim and just about anything that would bite his hook. He watched all sports but was most fond of Alabama football.   What Anthony loved above all things was spending time with his kids.  They meant the world to him and will never know just how much he adored them.  

Anthony will be remembered for having a “go with the flow” personality. He was extremely laid back, “it is what it is” attitude which made him easy to love and relate to.

Family & Friends will celebrate the life and legacy of Anthony Nelson on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 5 pm with a Service of Remembrance at 6 pm.  In lieu of flowers, a basket will be set up at the funeral home during visitation for cards of condolences and remembrance.
