Arlene Adele Withrow Stokes, age 96, passed away June 14, 2023.  She was born April 22, 1927 in New York City, NY to Herbert and Lillian Withrow.  Arlene earned her Master’s degree in Math from Hunter College and taught High School until her first child was to be born.  She then dedicated her life to raise her children in a God Centered home, enjoying organic gardening, playing games, and teaching others God’s Word. 

Arlene is survived by sons, Alan and Russell Stokes; daughters, Jane Ellis and Beth Allen; seven grandchildren, Jack Ellis, John Ellis, Scott Stokes, Kevin Stokes, Matthew Stokes, Sarah Houdashelt, and Samuel Allen; three great grandchildren, Jack Ellis V, Blair Houdashelt and Scarlett Ellis.

She will be laid to rest at Wing Cemetary awaiting Christ’s return with her husband, Howard Stokes. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 12:00pm.
