Barbara Bruhn Obituary

Barbara Jean Bruhn went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on January 19, 2026. She was born and raised in Texas and was a long time resident of Florida. She was preceded in her death by her husband Charles Bruhn and her parents Willie and Ora Nell Luedemann. She is survived by her sister Peggy Boecker (Calvin) her brother William Luedemann (Jeanne), her son Darrell Bruhn (Dottie), her son Dalton Bruhn, her daughter Diana Kern (John), her grandchildren Sabrina Peet (Dave), James Bruhn (Becca), Matthew Bruhn, Tiffany Bruhn (Chelsea), Holly Hoover, Emily Kern, and Tori Junot (Mike), and Ashley Kern. Her great grandchildren Rachel Peet, Isabella Peet, Braden Bruhn, Addison Bruhn, Ava Hoover and Charlie Reed. Barbara received Christ as her savior at an early age and was a committed believer. She enjoyed her family, just about anything “sweet” (especially Frappe and iced coffee) and her nursery “kids”. Her Legacy is most aptly described by a recent Calvary Baptist Facebook Post as follows in part… For nearly 60 years, Mrs. Barbara faithfully nurtured the hearts and souls of our youngest members in the church nursery. Through gentle hands, patient love, and a quiet servant’s heart, she touched several generations of children, many of whom are now grown and continuing to serve the Lord themselves. Her life reflected the beauty of a Proverbs 31 woman, living out Scripture in faithful service: “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” —Proverbs 31:28, 30 Mrs. Barbara did not seek recognition, yet her impact is immeasurable and eternal. If you’ve ever held a child in our nursery, you’ve felt her influence. If you’ve ever shared a smile in our Solid Ground coffee shop, you may have enjoyed the drink lovingly named after her… a small but meaningful reminder of a woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to so many. We are deeply grateful for a life poured out in service to Christ and His church. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” She will be deeply missed by all those she touched. In lieu of flowers, one can make a donation to missions at Calvary Baptist Church.
