Betty Louise Adams

Betty Louise Adams was born on September 24, 1956 in Opp, Alabama to the lovely parents, J.W. & Louise Adams. She grew up in Crestview, Florida and was a 1975 graduate of Crestview High School.

To say our family was blessed to have Betty in our lives is an understatement. Betty was special needs, but she was the most selfless, loving, and caring person. She had the mind of a ten-year-old, but the heart of a Saint. She was never sad or angry, and she was always smiling. If she loved you, or thought you were special, you knew it because she would demand her “hugs and kisses” and gift you with the most thoughtful gift for every special occasion.

Betty loved to color and do arts and crafts with her sister Shirley. She loved Jesus and going to Valley Road Baptist Church with her parents. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing Bingo at Shoal Creek Rehab Facility. She found delight in “yard saling” with her sister Lynn, searching to find more of the costume jewelry she loved so much. She looked forward to Saturdays when Sandra and Lynn would spend the day with her, playing or looking at animals, shopping at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, Big Lots, or Beall’s Outlet, and eating at one of her many favorite restaurants. Betty loved life to the fullest and she especially loved her family.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, Betty gained her angel wings and left this earthly world to join her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She left behind many heartbroken family members; her parents, Joseph (J.W.) & Louise Adams; sisters, Sandra Rytman and Lynn (Alan) Rogers; nieces, Kristy (Josh) Kolmetz, Cindy Gainey Long, Heather (Donald) Faulkner, Haley (Chris Busbee); nephew, Corey Rogers; 4 great-nieces, 7 great-nephews, and many cousins.

Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Adams, her sister, Shirley York and her nephew, Timmy Gainey.

Family, friends and others whose lives that Betty touched are invited to celebrate Betty’s life at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2021 for visitation from 2p.m. – 3 p.m., with services beginning at 3p.m.
