Betty Jean (Crawford) Barnhill

Betty Barnhill age 84 of Holt passed away on Friday night, June 19, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 17, 1936 to John Henry and Bessie Crawford. Betty grew up in Crestview and was a member of New Beginings church. She worked for many years as a hostess at the Holiday Inn. Betty loved working in the yard and loved her flowers. She loved going to the Casino with her son. Betty loved to cook and especially a BIG Sunday dinner for all the family. Family was important to Betty, she loved her family and taking care of her family, and especially the grandkids. Betty was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Bessie Crawford, husband Barney Barnhill, daughter Darlene Summerlin, grandson Bill Gallagher; brothers: Lonnie, Edmond, and Jerry Crawford; sisters: Mae Mason and Glenda Newman. Survivors include her children: Mike Barnhill and Sharon, Tammy Mock and Stacey, and Angie Donovan and Patrick; Brothers: Bert Crawford and J.D. Crawford and Faye; grandchildren: Skip, Ashley, Michael, Michelle, and Trent; great grandchildren: Aaron, Aiden, Katlyn, Little Bill, Kamryn, Tessa, and Nyla. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The celebration of Betty’s life will be on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Griffith Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
