On 11 June 2024, Bonice Lorraine “Bonnie” Clauser went to be with her Savior. She was born on 1 August 1935 to Orbie and Ada Hutto in Okaloosa County in the Shockley Springs community in the old Helms Log Cabin which is now located at the Baker Block Museum. Bonnie attended Escambia Farms High School where she graduated top of her class (Salutatorian) in 1953. After graduation, she worked for the phone company as an operator until she retired with over 30 years of service. Bonnie married the love of her life Richard (Yankee) Clauser on 21 December 1956. She was loved by all and known for her hospitality to anyone that came to her house. If you visited Bonnie and left hungry it was your own fault. Bonnie always demonstrated a deep love for Jesus and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orbie and Ada Hutto; Sisters Marinell Turner and Helen Kilpatrick; Brother Homer Hutto; Extended family Earl Lewis, James Lewis, Jerry Lewis, and Dorthy Hakes, and Husband Richard Clauser
Bonice is survived by her Brother-in-law Jim Turner; Sister-in-law Joanne Turner; Son Richard and Kerri Clauser; Grandson Frank and Jennifer Clauser, and 2 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 21, 2024, in the chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home beginning at 10 am with interment to follow at Shockley Springs Cemetery.
Bonnie will be missed by all, but we know she is safe in Jesus’ arms.
