Bonnie E. Lewis

Bonnie E. Lewis was born to Reverend Kenneth and Wessie Bell Sr. on 24th February 1961 in Stuart, Florida, she was the oldest of five siblings.  Bonnie was educated in the Martin County School system. She graduated with honors from Martin County High School in 1979. During her high school years she accepted Christ in her life under the leadership of Elder David L. Lewis Sr. Becoming an active member of the Church of God by Faith in Stuart she continued to show her love for singing and children, directing the choirs, (Adults, Children) and singing in the choir herself up and down the Florida east coast. 

After graduation Bonnie was employed at First National Bank of Stuart, until she married David L. Lewis, Jr. on September 10th 1988. God blessed them with 35 years of marriage and to this union was born one son, David L. Lewis III (AKA) DL3 on June 14th 2000.

Bonnie moved with David who was in the U.S. Air Force to Holloman AFB, New Mexico. This was Bonnie’s first trip away from home. Bonnie started attending the base chapel for the first year in New Mexico. God always has a plan, shortly after, God led her and David to Abundant Life Family Church, where she was asked to start a choir, as well as working with children and ushering. She worked continually in the church where-ever or whenever the need came up. 

In 1997, David received an assignment to Eglin AFB, FL. After arriving at Eglin they joined the Church of God by Faith in Crestview, Florida, where they served faithfully. Years later, Sister Bonnie and their son David, III, joined themselves to New Life International Worship Center.  While at New Life, she worked with the Seeds of Praise, Girls’ Club and was a member of the Prayer Team, each she truly loved. Not keeping the gift God had blessed her with, she took her love and passion for children outside the church by becoming a substitute teacher in Okaloosa County Schools for many years.  

On January 17th 2024, Bonnie went to sleep in the loving arms of her Husband.

She leaves to cherish her memory a Devoted and Loving Husband, David Lewis, Jr., (son) David Lewis, III, (parents) Reverend Kenneth and Wessie Bell Sr., Stuart, FL (two sisters) Lowenda Brown, and Andressia Bell (both of Stuart, FL), (Two Brothers) Kenneth (Rev Sandi) Bell, Jr., Michael (Shawn) Bell (both of Stuart, FL), (In-laws) Elder David (Annie) Lewis, Sr. (Stuart), (Sister-in-laws) Ruth Battle, Lillian Lewis (both of Stuart), (Brother-in-laws) Elder Garrick (Belinda) Lewis, Sr. (Stuart), Edward (Sandra) Lewis (Tampa), Mitch (Sebrina) Lewis (Orlando), Herbert (Sawn) Mouton (Port Saint Lucie). A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Friends, a devoted Pastor and loving Church Family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family, a card basket will be available at the New Life International Worship Center Service on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 am.
