Bonnie Jean Williams Roberson was born on June 23, 1953, to proud parents, LuraBell and Howard Williams in Lockhart, Alabama. Affectionately known as “Gain Jean”, she grew up leading the way for her siblings. She accepted Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lockhart, Alabama. A bonafide fashionista, Bonnie had a flair for fashion and was always on the lookout for the perfect outfit to add to her collection. Bonnie was a proud graduate of the Class of 1970 at McNary High School in McNary, Arizona. Upon graduation, the family relocated to Alexandria, LA, where she enrolled in Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. While at Grambling, she met her husband, Danny Roberson, Sr. After graduating in 1974, Bonnie and Danny married and moved to Shreveport, LA, where she began her teaching career. Their union was blessed with three children, Danny Jr., Ferlillia Victoria, and Justin Ramon. Bonnie and Danny later relocated to Alexandria, LA, to raise their children. After the loss of her husband, Danny, in 1990, Bonnie relocated to her beloved Arizona. She later returned to Alexandria, LA, where she was blessed with her fourth child, Christopher Aaron. A dedicated educator for over 30 years, Bonnie taught children in Louisiana, Florida, Germany, Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, and North Carolina. Her skilled and caring nature left an undeniable mark on every child she touched. A faithful servant, Bonnie would immediately unite with a Church wherever she resided. In Alexandria, LA, she joined Comforter Baptist Church led by Pastor Samuel L. Pullen. In Detroit, MI, she worshiped at Union Grove Baptist Church led by Pastor John Cole, Sr. In Pinetop, AZ, she joined Blooming Grove Baptist Church led by Pastor George T. Simon, Jr. In Chicago, IL, she worshiped at Trinity United Church of Christ led by Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, III. In Durham, NC, she worshiped at Orange Grove Baptist Church led by Pastor Herbert Dickerson. In 2017, Bonnie was blessed to retire from teaching and built her retirement home in Crestview, FL where she joined New Hope Minis Bonnie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Bonnie’s laughter, love of life, and ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Bonnie received her Crown on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She is preceded in death by parents, LuraBell and Howard Williams Sr.; brother Tommy Williams, and husband, Danny Roberson, Sr. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: siblings Lacy Wright Sr., Betty Williams, Howard Williams Jr., Sulura Williams-Jackson, Callie Williams, and Phyllis Williams; four children Danny Roberson, Jr., Ferlillia Roberson, Jus tin Roberson, and Christopher Roberson; eight grandchildren, the lights of her life, Nathan Roberson, Jordyn Smith, Malachi Snider, Hunter Roberson, Collin Lewis, Eli jah Roberson, Isa Roberson, and Anderson Austin; nieces and nephews, Paula, Chena, Carla (Limbert), Torey, Melody, Wendy, Eric ka, Janae, Aaron, Christina, Demetrius, Maxine, Lacy Jr., Greg (Brianna), Shawndrica (Cornelius), Tiffany (Hugh), Troy (Rhonda), Brenten, Erik, Eyan (Amber) Erin, Evan, and a host of Great Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and In-Laws.
