Brenda Spence Mikota

January 7, 1960 - August 8, 2025

Brenda Irene Mikota, 65 of Crestview, FL. died August 8th, 2025. Brenda Mikota, daughter of Joseph and Jean Spence,sister of Cindy Spence and Debbie Carpenter, loving wife of Michael Mikota, and mother of Victoria Mikota, passed away on August 8th at North Okaloosa Medical Center, due to complications following a surgery. 

She is survived by her husband Michael, and her daughter Victoria. Mikota worked as a loving substitute teacher in Okaloosa County for 20 years, and was known by so many students, teachers, and parents as a compassionate person who went above and beyond to see students succeed in school, and in life. She dedicated her countless hours after school to tutoring, daycare, and helping grade papers for teachers during her downtime. Brenda loved Jesus, Bible study, crafting, reading, and writing poetry. She loved her husband and daughter deeply, and her death will continue to touch the lives of many for generations to come. We will miss her for a lifetime. Her legacy will continue to live on through our lives, and we know that her final resting place is in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
