Capt. Jay Michael Jones

          Jay Jones age 51 of Crestview passed away at his home on Sunday October 16, 2022. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on April 20, 1971, to John Jones and Joyce Earnst. Jay served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He continued serving his community in the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department for twenty-seven and half years. Jay reached the rank of Captain. Jay loved the outdoors. He loved being on the water and boating. Jay also loved riding his ATV with his family and going to the gun range and shooting with his friends. Jay is preceded in death by his parents.

          Jay is survived by his wife of 33 years Renee Jones; his children Tyler Ann Jones and her husband Collin Edwards and his son Dawson Michael Jones; sisters Tina Cinquemani and her husband Paul; Teresa Knudsen and husband Gentry; and step-father, Barry Ernest. Many friends and co-workers also survive.

          A memorial service for Jay will be held on Monday October 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Crestview Community Center in Crestview. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jay’s memory to the Okaloosa County Sheriff Star Charities linked below.
