Carolyn Crum Smith 84 of Milligan, Florida died April 30, 2025 at home. She was born July 23, 1940 in Newport News, VA to the late Edward and Marie Bennett Crum. She graduated from Warwick High School in 1958 and attended Old Dominion University and Mercyhurst College. She worked at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, DC, The Young Presidents Organization and in her family bakery among others.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading and watching tv shows such as “The Curse of Oak Island.” She was a member of the ladies ensamble and choir at her son’s church First Baptist Church of Milligan.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, and her brother Dr. Gary E. Crum. She is survived by her son Rev. Charles E. Smith and his wife Heather of Milligan, FL, her daughter Lela Brinson and her husband Adam of DeFuniak Springs, FL and five grandchildren Matthew, Lillian, Laura, James and Emalee.
Burial will be at 10am on May 2, 2025 at Glendale Memorial Nature Preserve, 298 Railroad Ave, DeFuniak Springs, FL. All are welcome. Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangments.
