Charles “Chuck” Dennis Bowler, a proud retired veteran of the United States Army, passed away peacefully at his home on May 11, 2024, at the age of 68 in Crestview, Florida.
Son of the late Charles Bowler and Charlotte (Hurd) Bowler, Chuck grew up in Brighton, Massachusetts, and attended Brighton High School.
At the age of 17, Chuck enlisted in the United States Army. He endured arduous training earning the honor “Army Ranger” and has served in numerous locations throughout the United States and European theater. He retired in 1997 with twenty-two years of serving his county. After retirement, he kept busy working, he enjoyed traveling the United States and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Chuck is survived by his beautiful wife Brenda, daughters Francis Cook and Jamie Johnson, granddaughters Emma and Ellie Johnson, sisters Denise Murphy, Diane Cenci, and Sheila Bowler, proceeded by his late brother, Brian Bowler. He was also surrounded by his numerous nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of Chuck will include a showing on May 16, 5:00 p.m. (CST), at the Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview along with a funeral precession at 103 West Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola on May 17 at 1:30 p.m. (CST).
