Charles Thomas

Charles H. Thomas, age 79, passed away on August 7, 2025 surrounded by love. Charles was born in Mount Vernon, New York, where he dedicated many years of service to the City of Mount Vernon in which he retired. A stranger to no one, Charles had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. His laughter, stories, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Charles is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nellie, his daughters Tonia, Eugenia and Desirey, his sons Shaun and Mark, as well as his sisters Helen, Charlotte, and brother Ronald. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Sebastian, daughter Natasha, and sister Marguerite and Jeannie. His family loves him fiercely and will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Services will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview Fl on August 22, 2025. Visitation begins at 10am followed by a memorial service at 11am.
