Cissie Jernigan Carpenter

  Cecilia Ann Jernigan Carpenter, age 78 years young, passed away on November 17, 2023 at North Okaloosa Medical Center.  She was born in Crestview on February 26, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Ada Jernigan and her husband, Harold Carpenter. Cissie, as everyone knew her, leaves behind a legacy of her children and children in law, Dawnne and Robert Garza, Michael and Sandy Patterson and Paige and Brad Comer; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Ryan, Michael, Sabrina and Summer; her brothers and sisters in law, Johnny and Kay Jernigan, Kenny and Glenda Jernigan along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cissie had a personality larger than life.  She never met a stranger and if she did, she made sure to change that.  She was a lifelong teacher and enjoyed her job.  She loved quilting, playing with her pup, Rosie, and listening to Willie Nelson.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Everybody knew and loved Cissie!

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11 am at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. Services at noon with Bro Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Interment to follow at LiveOak Memorial Cemetery.
