Coach Tim Dixon, age 69; passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at North Okaloosa Medical Center. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on May 27, 1952, to Burl and Mary Dixon. Tim’s great love of his life was his wife, Elaine. Perhaps the greatest achievement to him is the two sons that he and Elaine reared that are a testament to his character and a legacy of which to be proud. A member of Union Hill Church of Christ and Woodland Church of Christ in North Carolina, he was an earnest student of the bible taking time each day to read and prepare to teach and spend time with his church family.
Tim was an avid hunter of Ancient Indian Artifacts of which his greatest finds was a Clovis Point. He was a studious mathematician taking pride in the students whose lives he could enrich and was five times published in Teachers Mathematics Magazine. Tim spent 30 years coaching football and had a profound impact on his student athletes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Burl and Mary Dixon; sister, Phyllis Martin; and in-laws, Jack and Thelma Crutchfield.
Tim is survived by his wife, Elaine Dixon; sons, Jason Dixon and wife, Andi, and Brian Dixon and wife, Dinah; sister, Laura Kervin and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Bethany Dixon and fiancé, Joe Hillard, and Seven Dixon.
There will be a visitation with the family from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services for Coach Tim will be conducted on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 2:00pm with another visitation from 1-1:45pm at Union Hill Church of Christ, with burial to follow.
