Daphne Williamson Grimes

Daphne Williamson Grimes, aged 93, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on July 3, 1931, Daphne grew up in south Alabama. She moved to Crestview, Florida, after high school, where she met her husband, James Eddith Grimes. They were married for 53 years until his death in December of 2004.

Daphne was predeceased by her parents, Charles Clanton Williamson and Grace Sutley Williamson, her husband, and her son, James E. Grimes, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Grimes, who remembers her mother as a pillar of strength and love; her brothers, Dwayne Williamson (Maggie) of Pensacola, and Weyland Williamson (Carolyn) of Crestview; and several nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
