Don Fife age 73 of Crestview passed away on Friday January 8, 2021. He was born in Monroe, La on March 18, 1947. His parents were Magruder and Lillie Fife. After graduating high school Don was drafted by the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the military Don attended Ole Miss and worked for many years as a Comptroller in the road construction industry, Okaloosa Asphalt, Couch, and Gum Creek Farms. Don loved cars and watching car shows. He loved drag racing and watching college football. He was a member of New Beginnings Church in Crestview. Most of all Don loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings. Don is survived by his wife of 43 years Susan Fife; his children: Donald Thomas “Dutch” Fife and his wife Kennida, Partrice Hansford and her husband Robert, Catheryn Crawford and her husband Kevin, Samuel Fife and his wife Kasey, and Daniel Fife and his fiancé Rylee; Brother Marshall Whatley and his wife Hilda; the apple of his eye were his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Gage and wife Tiffany, Bea and husband Daniel, Kara and husband Colten, Alex, Dylan, Joseph, Bailey and husband Travis, Gracie and fiancé Brett, Carson, Eladia, Elijah, Avery, and Melody; great grands: Roman, Liam, Violet, Abel, Brooklyn, Eli, Ezra, Romana, and Harlow. We would also like to include Don’s business partner and Co-worker who quickly became family: Perry and Jennifer Bell; Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and church family. The celebration of Don’s life will be on Saturday January 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Church with Pastor Jason Stokes officiating. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. Don’s final resting place will be at Barrancas National Cemetery with a private family service.
