Dorothy Ann Blanton

Dorothy Ann Blanton passed away Oct 31 surrounded by her family. She was born in Georgetown, Washington DC, Oct 20, 1949 and was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Blanton and her daughter Tina Dobbins. She is survived by her companion Roger Van Fossen and her daughters Mary Ann Basilio and her husband Cris, Teresa Welch and her husband Chris, and her son Mark Blanton. Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Dorothy grew up in Maryland where she spent the majority of her life. She moved to Florida, where she was able to spend a lot of time with many of her grandchildren which was very special to her since family was so very important to her. She also enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and loved her ornamental frog yard decorations. She will be buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD alongside her late husband and daughter.  There will be a visitation held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 6-8:00pm.
