Douglas Davis, age 81, died on November 11, 2024, in Crestview, Florida. He was born August 2, 1943, in Laurel Hill, Florida.
Douglas is survived by his fiancé Garland Marsh Royals, his son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Sharon Davis; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and David Roberts, as well as five grandchildren: Traci Davis, Toshia Adkison, Megan Guy (Jordan), Timothy Roberts, Ethan Chessher (Meryha) and four great-grandchildren Asher Davis, Aiden Helms, James Guy, and Waylon Chessher. He is also survived by three sisters, Audrey Dean, Velma Faulk, and Lucille Stewart and three brothers Hayward Davis, Robert Davis, and Franklin Davis.
Douglas is proceeded in death by his brother Donald (Al) Davis, and his parents Albert and Minnie Lou Davis.
Douglas was a pipefitter by trade for the Monsanto plant in Pensacola for 30 years before retiring to enjoy life and hobbies like woodworking and working on cars. He was hardworking and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The last few years were wrought with health concerns that limited his ability to do the physical things he enjoyed but it did not affect his helpful and caring spirit to those he loved.
At his request, there will not be a service as he did not like people “making a fuss” over him. We will all have our memories of the wonderful man, father, and grandfather he was. His absence from the lives of his family will be deeply felt.
Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com
