Ed Brooks

Ed Brooks age 68 of Crestview went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday October 11, 2020, he was at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Huntsville, AL on February 22, 1952, to John and Oma Brooks. Ed joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 4 years. He also retired from the United States Air Force Reserve after 20 years of service. Ed then went on to work with Civil Service as a financial planner for 15 years. After retiring Ed loved being around the house, he would work on small engines, and take daily walks with his dog Bobby. He loved to fish and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ed is preceded in death by his brother Steve Brooks and his parents John Brooks and Oma Bunnell. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Pam Brooks; son Johnathan Brooks and daughter Jennifer Nelson and her husband Tim; sisters: Charlotte Donor and Wanda Black; the apple of his eye were his grandchildren: Aidan, Austin, Addison, and Autumn. A time of visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with military honors beginning at 7:00 p.m. A private family service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
