Ed Forehand

Ed Forehand, age 82, passed away November 12, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 29, 1938 in Slocomb, Alabama to Chester and Eunice Forehand. Ed served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Valley Road Baptist Church. Ed loved to fish and loved his church. He loved his garden and loved to grow vegetables, and he enjoyed pulling for the Florida Gators. Most of all he loved his family, especially giving big ol’ hugs to them. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bibb Forehand and a sister Margie Smith.

Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Forehand; his sons: Mark Forehand and his wife Sheron, Todd Forehand and his wife Amy, and Scott Forehand and his wife Jennifer. Brothers: Sonny Forehand and his wife Carolyn, Allen Forehand and his wife Sharrel, and Paul Forehand and his wife Vicki; Sisters: Faye Pierce and husband Charles, Robbie Hendrix and husband Malcolm; the apple of his eye his grandchildren: Caleb Forehand, Seth Forehand, Drew Forehand, Kristen Vera and husband Jon, Valerie Smith and husband Will, Matthew Klein and Madison Forehand; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Powers, Ashley Powers and Hayden Vera.

A time of visitation with the family will be on Sunday November 15, 2020 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. The celebration of Ed’s life will be on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 10:00 at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with Harold Morris and David Cox officiating. The burial for Ed will be at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Hill, 2414 Hartford Highway, Dothan, AL 36305 Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
