Edgar Peters Obituary

Edgar Lee Peters, age 88, passed away on Sunday January 12, 2020 at Homestead Village Retirement Community in Pensacola. He was born in Crestview, Florida on March 9, 1931 to Emma Lee and Edgar E. Peters. Edgar served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years and retired March 31, 1967. He was honorably discharged and achieved numerous awards for good conduct and exemplary service. He was a member of the local Baptist church. Edgar was preceded in death by his wife Clara Juanite “Nita” Peters; his parents; and his sister, Jessie Jeanette Cartwright.

Survivors include his son, Allen Peters; his daughter, Dayle “Dee” Farmer; his daughter-in-law, Pat Peters; and his sister, Betty Travers. He had two grandchildren, Raymond “Scott” Farmer and Robert “Rob” Farmer.

The funeral is scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
