Elizabeth M. Prevatt, also known as "Moms" or "The Cake and Candy Lady", went to her reward on Wednesday, October, 22, 2025. She was 93 years old.
Elizabeth was born in Plainfield, NJ, on June 7, 1932, to Charles and Jane Halliday, 1 of 5 daughters. She married the love of her life, Amos R. Prevatt, on August 7, 1954 and had two children: Donna Jean and Charles Andrew.
As an Air Force wife, she traveled the world as she followed her husband in his various postings, eventually settling in Baker, FL. She became a strong influence on the community, leading to the creation of the Milligan Water System. She also joined her mother in a home business venture making cakes, candies and catering weddings.
She was preceeded in death by her husband and her son, her mother and her father, and three of her sisters.
She leaves behind her daughter, Donna Pigott (Paul), her daughter-in-law Monica Prevatt, three grandchildren (Gordon Cruson, Renee Barrett (Casey), and Karlee Prevatt), five great-grandchildren (Austin Wolfe, Regan Cruson, and Cooper, Kinsey and Raylee Barrett), and her sister Martha Picerno, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, two young ladies she treated as daughters: Bonnie Krazinski and Cheryl Cody.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a hospice of your choice or Tunnels to Towers.
