Everett Glen Myers, age 89 years young, passed away peacefully at his home on May 9, 2025. Everett was born to Jackson and Mary Ann Myers on December 23, 1935, in Laurel, MS. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wynell Myers; his parents; his brothers, Roy and Troy Myers; his grandchild, Ryan Myers, and daughter in law, Vicky Myers. Everett leaves behind his legacy of his sons, Nicky and Shannon Myers; his grandchildren, Ashley and Ashton Myers; his brother, Franklin Myers; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, and his feline friend, Jackie O, who stuck with him to the end. He was a teacher at Crestview High School since before the birth of dinosaurs. He loved coaching baseball and will be remembered as “Coach” to many. Everett wore many hats, but his favorite was “Dad”. He taught his sons to be good Christian people, to work hard for anything that mattered, and set the example for them to follow. He enjoyed simple things like counting pinecones while he picked them up before mowing, and then announced at church how many he picked up. Everett always sat in the third row at First Baptist, where he was a member for over 60 years. While we will miss him, the family takes comfort in knowing he has reunited with his bride and that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Crestview on Thursday, May 15 at 10 am with Pastor Stan Lewis officiating the funeral service at 11 am. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 16, at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Jack, AL, with Bro. Cliff Quincey officiating. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Heather, Charlotte, Catherine, and Jennifer, along with Emerald Coast Hospice, who provided excellent care and compassion.
