Flora May Copeland

Flora May (McGovern) Copeland, 80, of Crestview, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 13, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

   Flora was born December 6, 1942, in McKeesport, Pa, a daughter of the late Gail (Johnson) McGovern Stull and John Robert McGovern.

   Flora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Assembly of God in Baker. 

   Flora was preceded in death in December 1999, by her husband, William (Bill) Copeland, Sr.  

   She will be sadly missed by her loving family: 10 children – Thelma Jacobs of Fombell, Pa; Sally (Dennis) Miller of The Villages, Fl; Dottie (Len) Blackson of Ocala, Fl; Robin (Paul) Beck of Scottdale, Pa; Marty (Mark) Biehl of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl; Karen Bradley, Sharon Patten, Becky (Chester) Tew, Bill Copeland, Jr, Amy (Todd) Forehand, and son-in-law Arturo (Art) Arteaga, Sr, all of Crestview, Fl; and daughter-in-law Kathy Copeland of Ohio. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her brother, Daniel (Mary Kay) McGovern of Allison Park, Pa., and a sister, Cheryel (Don) Sechrist of Scottdale, Pa.

   In addition to her husband and parents Flora was preceded in death by her children, Brenda Copeland, David Copeland, Bob Copeland and Diane Arteaga; sons-in-laws, Avery Patten, Greg Jacobs, and Robert Bradley; and grandson, Arturo (Artie) Arteaga, Jr.; a brother, Robert McGovern, a sister Harriet Swank and an infant brother and sister.

Visitation will be at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18th from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral will be at Shady Grove Assembly of God in Baker, Florida on Monday December 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
