Geoffrey (Geo) John Seitz  

Geoffrey was born on June 6, 1990 in Fairfax County, Virginia.  He passed away at Fort Walton-Destin Medial Center on May 20, 2023 with his mother Patricia, father Gregory, and sister Courtney Oiler at his side.  He left us at the young age of only 32.  His many friends called him “Geo”.

Geoffrey graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, VA in 2008. He excelled in math and science.  He worked part time during school at PetSmart where he showed his love for animals both furry and scaly.  He received early college acceptance at Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Newport News, VA.  He graduated in 2012 with a BS in Computer Engineering.  He was a brother in Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at CNU.

Upon college graduation, he moved to Mary Esther, Florida.  He worked at MicroSystems (Kratos), AVG (AVAST), and BeastCode where he worked Info Technology project management, testing and quality assurance.  Since during high school, he was an active online gamer and frequent gamer at local TBS Comics. He had a huge Warhammer army.  For his High School graduation, we took him to England where he met up with his online gamer team at Cambridge University.  With his engaging smile and non-judgmental manner, he quickly made friends.  

He loved cooking and TV cooking shows (especially Japanese cooking).  He was a lover of all animals especially cats. Favorite YouTube was JunsKitchen.  He bought a black and white cat he named Oreo at a yard sale while in elementary school.  Oreo followed him to CNU and on to Mary Esther.  He was a serious Dr. Who fan and also a fan of Japanese Anime.  He learned Japanese with hopes of visiting Japan.  He was a sought-after computer guru for security and PC issues.

A Dr. Who quote found on his phone from 2011 was “In passing all are made eternal.  You will always be missed, but never forgotten.”

Geoffrey is survived by his parents, Gregory and Patricia (Courtney) Seitz, sister, Courtney Oiler, nieces, Kayla and Madisen, and nephew, Samuel.  He is also survived by many other loved uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 4 2023, at 2pm, at the Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Crestview, Florida.
