George Wilson Campbell (Woot) born September 3, 1929 in Munson, Florida went to his eternal home on October 28, 2024 at the age of 95. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by members of his family.
Woot was a member of the Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. In later years, after marrying Anne, he also worshipped at the First Methodist Church of Crestview.
Woot graduated from Crestview High School and then went to Florida State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree, graduating with the first co-ed class. After graduation, he proudly served 4 years in the Air Force while stationed in California. He then returned to Northwest Florida and worked in the logging industry before he started his long term career as an educator in Okaloosa County.
He began his tenure at Laurel Hill School teaching science and later transferred to Crestview High School where he taught drafting and later retired in 1988.
Woot was preceded in death by his parents, Cortez and Alma Campbell; his first wife, Arlesia Campbell; brothers and sisters in law, Earl and June Campbell and Douglas and Nita Campbell; brother, Robert Campbell; sister, Marjorie Campbell; son, Thomas Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Campbell; sons, Andy (Leigh Ann) Campbell, Scott (Kristie) Campbell, James Kayvonfar; daughter, Indie Kayvonfar; daughter-in-law, Helen Campbell; adopted children, Ching Ching (CK) Shen; sister-in-law, Beach Campbell.
Woot is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
