Georgeann Tatman Obituary

Georgeann Marie Tatman, died on August 20, 2020 at the age of 90 peacefully at home with family in Crestview, FL. Georgeann was born May 27, 1930 in Crooksville, Ohio, the daughter of Phillip F. Moore and Helen Meade Moore. Married May 26, 1947, Georgeann was happily married to the love of her life, William Rex Tatman of Roseville, Ohio for more than 48 years before his passing in April of 1996. Georgeann was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was very proud of her family, was excited to become a Grandmother to her 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren (soon to be 6). She loved holidays and family get-togethers, any chance to spend time with her family was important to her and everyone loved her home-made “Chicken and Noodles” and Christmas Buckeyes.

“A Poem for our Mother” The angels gathered near your side, so very close to you for they knew the pain and suffering, that you were going through. I thought about so many things as I held tightly to your hand. Oh, how I wished that you were strong and Happy once again but your eyes were looking homeward to that place beyond the sky where Jesus held his outstretched arms. It was time to say goodbye as I struggled with my selfish thoughts for, I wanted you to stay so we could walk and talk again like we did…just yesterday. Jesus knew the answer and I knew you loved him so I gave to your life’s greatest gift, the gift of letting go.

We love you Mom. As a lifelong Christian, Georgeann was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Crooksville, Ohio, and Crestview Florida. For many years alongside both family and friends, she would spend countless hours preparing home cooked meals for the church’s congregation. Georgeann is survived by her sister and husband Sue and Stan McHenry and brother and wife John and Cathy Moore; her 5 children and their spouses Thomas and Glenda Tatman, Kathleen and Jeffrey Carlisle, William and Carole Tatman, Peggy and John Dolan, Patrick and Carrie Tatman; 11 grandchildren Theresa, Christopher, Andrew, Gregory, Chrissa, David, Jonathan, Joseph, Brittany, Sydney, and Luke; 5 great-grandchildren Elliott, Ryker, Carson, Harlee and Reese-Hope. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. No services are to be held. It was Georgeann’s wish to be cremated. Georgeann’s ashes, along with her husbands are to be spread at Sunrise along the South Jetty in Venice Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to either church at: First United Methodist Church, 20 N Buckeye St. Crooksville, Oh 43731 or First united Methodist Church, 599 8th Ave, Crestview, FL 32536.
