Gerald Hudgens

Gerald (Jerry) Davis Hudgens, age 83, of Crestview, FL., passed away Monday July 8th, 2024. Jerry lived in Crestview for the past 38 years.

            Jerry Hudgens was born on May 6, 1941, in Troy, Alabama. He was the son of Buck and Jewel Ethel Hudgens from Glenwood, Alabama. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1959.

            He attended Auburn University and graduated in 1965 with a B.S.E.E (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) degree. Jerry began his career with RCA and worked on the U.S.S Vandenburg. He then enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer for over 40 years working for companies Vitro, Nutek, and the Department of Defense. Through retirement, Jerry continued to apply his love of learning, his creativity, and his problem solving skills towards innovative projects in and around his home.

            Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Tilley Hudgens; three children, Melissa (Dave) Ley of Plantation, FL, Michael (Rachel) Hudgens of Birmingham, AL, Jeffrey (Dominique) Hudgens of Pensacola, FL; a sister, Charlotte (Donnie) Hall of Montgomery, AL, a sister Carra (Don) Higgins (deceased) of Babb, MT, and a brother Kenneth (Lynn) Hudgens (deceased) of Glenwood, AL; seven grandchildren (Mikey, Megan, Justin, Nathan, Novalee, Sophia, and Savanna), several nieces and nephews, and two four-legged friends (Lissie and Maggie).

            Donations in his name can be provide to the Glenwood Methodist Church at PO Box 53 Glenwood, AL, 36034 and would be greatly appreciated.
