Gladys Wynell McKinney

Gladys Wynell McKinney, age 93, of Holt, Fl passed away in her home July 22, 2021. She was the youngest of nine siblings and was born in Esto, Florida on August 9 1927, and was raised on a full working farm.

Wynell was a member of Shady Grove Assembly of God Church for 48 years. She loved her Church and reading her Bible daily. Wynell loved all her family and friends and welcomed them all to come to her home and share in her great Southern “country cookin”. She was equally loved by her family and friends. She was a most “giving and selfless” person, I think anyone would agree.

Wynell was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, her son, Terral Jan McKinney, Husband of 61 years, Okley Earl McKinney, Senior, and a daughter Aletha Ray.  Survivors include three sons, Earl McKinney Jr., LaRue McKinney, Rick McKinney and wife Maria:  daughter, Gia Thompson and husband Alex: 16 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.  

A visitation will be held from 11 am to Noon on Wednesday, July 28 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home followed by interment in Esto Baptist Church Cemetery.
