Glen Seth Slezia

Glen was born in the Bronx, New York City, NY, later moving to Queens and then Long Island where he graduated high school and joined the Air Force on 26 July 1973.  He began his Air Force career as an aircraft weapons specialist at Cannon AFB, NM.  Then traveled and built his family over many years at places like Okinawa, Japan; Ramstein, Germany and Aviano, Italy.  At Ramstein he transitioned from aircraft maintenance to command and control software systems.  Glen retired from the Air Force on 26 July 1993 but continued to serve his country supporting mission operations and special operations deployments across the world as a software systems manager, tester, trainer, and teacher until he fully retired in August 2022. 

Glen was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who cherished his family and friends above all else. He leaves behind his wife Julie of 35 years; three sons, Seth, Aaron, and Philip his greatest pride; his daughter and touchstone, Amber; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; his sister Debbie; nieces, nephews, and many friends around the world.  All of whom he loved beyond words and reveled in the joy and laughter they brought into his life.   Glen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity and unwavering strength that touched all who knew him.

A private celebration of Glen’s life will be held on 20 June 2025 at the Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, Florida. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Glen are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing cherished stories at Sealand in Fort Walton Beach, his favorite restaurant, at 5:00 pm. 

Rest in peace, dear Glen, Dad, Pops. You will forever remain in our hearts.
