Gracie Maxine Eliason, age 94, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Maxine was born on June 12, 1931, in Baker, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around faith, family, and fellowship.
She loved to sew, knit, crochet, and cook, and she found joy in spending time with her loved ones. Maxine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida, where she taught adult Sunday school and served in various church groups. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Debbie DuBose; her two sons and their wives, Duke and Norma Eliason and Troy and Jerri Eliason; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Caitlin Eliason, Ava Eliason, and Mia Eliason; and two great-grandchildren, Luke Anderson and Amelia Anderson.
She was a woman of strength and joy, who loved music and dancing. Maxine met her husband of over 60 years at a USO dance in Milton, Florida. She cherished family gatherings, cooking desserts, and playing games with those she loved. Her favorite saying was, “dynamite comes in little packages.”
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10:00-11:00am at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery where Maxine will be laid to rest by her husband of over 60 years, Duane Eliason.
