Grady Williams age 100 of Escambia Farms passed away on Saturday September 25, 2021, at Silver Crest Manor. He was born in Butler County, AL on September 22, 1921, to Emmitt & Marie Williams. While working at the school and refereeing ballgames he meets his future wife, Mabel Chessher. Grady helped his father on the family farm for many years. He went to work at Monsanto and retired after years. Grady served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Grady loved to quail hunt and loved to hunt with his dogs. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church. Grady was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 6 brothers and his wife Mabel Williams. Grady is survived by his sons: Jimmy Williams & his wife Brenda, & Jerry Williams & his wife Dorothy Williams; Also surviving are his 6 grandchildren: Showna & husband John, Tammy & husband Stephen, Jamie & husband Joshua, Cynthia & husband Sonny, Donna, & Jeremy & wife Brandi; along with 12 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. The celebration of Grady’s life will be on Wednesday September 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Cotton Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
