Greg Myers, age 64 of Crestview, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Birmingham, AL at UAB. He was born in Austin, TX on October 29, 1956, to Doug and Dorothy Myers. Greg served his country in the United States Army and his biggest accomplishment was becoming an Army Ranger. He was active duty in the United States Army for 7 years and then served in the Army National Guard while pursing his teaching career. He taught at many schools including Shoal River Middle School, Richbourg Middle School and Crestview High School. Greg loved camping, sailing, the city of New Orleans and the Saints. He loved the Auburn Tigers, but most of all he loved his family, and he loved the Lord. We find peace in knowing that he is in heaven. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy; brothers: William & Eric Myers, and his father-in-law, Robert Campbell.
Greg is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sarah Myers; son, Austin Myers; daughter, Savanah McLean and her husband Tucker; brothers, Earl Myers and his wife Val, Doug Myers, Jr., Jim Myers and his wife Jennifer, Jon Myers and his wife Kim; sisters, Debbie Kelly and Nancy Millspaugh and her husband Ken; also surviving are his 2 grandchildren, Annabelle and Levi McLean, and numerous nieces & nephews. His fellow teachers and the many students whose lives he touched will dearly miss him.
The celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.at First Baptist Church Crestview with burial to follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Greg’s memory to the Crestview High School Science Department.
