Howard Passino

Howard Passino age 88 of Crestview passed away on Saturday November 6, 2021, at his home with family members by his side. He was born in Ausable Forks, NY on August 6, 1933, to Lillian & Halsey Passino and resided in Keesville, NY for 30 years. After graduating high school Howard served his country in the United States Navy for years. After his service in the Navy, he went to work for the New York Department of Corrections and retired from there after 25 years. Howard was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #7968. He also was an American Legion member and a member of the AFSCME Retirees. Howard loved to spend time outdoors and many activities like gardening, fishing, hunting, and boating. He also enjoyed bowling and square dancing, but most of all he loved his family. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Evelyn Snow and Theresa Douglas and a brother Francis Passino.

            Howard is survived by his wife of 65 years Joan Passino, daughter Joanne Thomas and husband James of Crestview, son Howard Passino, Jr and wife Regina of Peru, NY; grandchildren: Brenda Albrecht of Houston, TX, Mark Passino of Plattsburgh, NY, Kristian Burdett and husband Brandon of Norwood, NY, James Thomas and wife Sarah, Jerry Thomas and fiancé Tiffany and Brian Thomas of Crestview, FL, Tylor Powers of Jericho, NY, Rayna Powers of Plattsburgh, NY. Also surviving are Howard’s great grandchildren: Joshua Albrecht, Jeremy Albrecht, Hailey Villnave, Kali Burdette, Ryder Passino, Hayley Thomas, Jayce Thomas, Brianna Thomas, Landon Powers, and Liam Latour. A brother-in-law and his wife John and Dianne Ouimette, along with several nieces & nephews.

            The celebration of Howard’s life will be held on Wednesday November 10, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
