Irene Russell

Irene Russell age 86 of Crestview passed away on Saturday December 3, 2022, at her home. She was born in Milton, FL on October 2, 1936, to John and Ruth Collinsworth, one of 12 children. Irene has lived in the Crestview community since the late 70’s. She owned an operated Beauty by Sisters hair salon for many years and then became a realtor and had a successful career with Teel and Waters. Irene attended First Baptist Church of Crestview. She loved to cook and go shopping. She was an avid collector of anything elephant and loved to travel with her husband Dave. Irene loved to garden and tend to her plants, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

          Irene is survived by her husband of 42 years Dave Russell; her children: Sam Wheat, Julie Wheat, Tamara Taylor and husband Barry, and James Wheat and his wife Stephanie; step daughter Darlene Dean and husband Tom; grandchildren: Meagan and husband Chris, Victor, Colton and wife Maholley, Turner, Collin, Tara, and Kane and wife Jieun; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive Irene.

          The celebration of Irene’s life will be on Saturday December 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m.
