James Cleveland Richardson

James Cleveland Richardson, born on May 26, 1955, in Crestview, Florida to Homer and Birdie and was the 2nd of 6 children. He passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in his hometown at the age of 69.

James dedicated over 45 years of his life to Bayou Mechanical before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment to his career were admired by those who knew him. Outside of work, James found joy in NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family, especially his son and grandson who brought him the greatest joy and entertainment. These passions brought him happiness and created cherished memories for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Birdie Richardson.

He is lovingly remembered and survived by his son Mickey Richardson (Cassandra Richardson) and their son Jackson Richardson; his daughter Yvonna Kilpatrick (Jeff Kilpatrick) and their children Rebecca Kilpatrick, Morgan Hughes (Jonathan Huges), and Austin Kilpatrick; as well as his siblings Charles Richardson, Kathy Stiller (Roger Stiller), Sherry Richardson (Mickey Davis), Betty Richardson, and Raymond Richardson (Debbie Richardson). James’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, from 10:00-11:00am at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Baptist Cemetery.
