Janet Kay Stallings

Janet Stallings age 81 of Crestview passed away on Sunday July 31, 2022. She was born in Mount Carmel, Illinois on May 25, 1941, to Roy and Esther Stallings. Janet moved to the Crestview area 45 years ago. Janet ran Clary’s Grocery in Milligan for many years. She then went to work at Hurlburt Field in the Commissary as a Vendor and later as a Cashier at Publix. Janet loved her game shows and country music. She never met a stranger and loved talking with her friends on the phone, but most of all she loved her family. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, sister Deanna, her Aunt Kathleen Nash, 2 nieces Cheryl and Lisa and her 2 best friends Connie and Faye.

Janet is survived by her children: Ricky Ruschmeier and his wife Debbie, Steve Ruschmeier and his wife Kim, David Ruschmeier, Kay Ruschmeier Nestor and husband Dave, and Angela Clary; brother Phillip Stallings and his wife Carol; niece and nephew: Julia and Kurt; 13 grandchildren: Greg, Michael, Brian, Jenny, Travis, James, Ashley, Taylor, Brayden, Gabrielle, Ryan, Hunter, and Shaina along with 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters; and numerous great nieces and nephews; the father of her children Jim Ruschmeier and his wife Virginia who Janet remained close to till her passing and a sister in law Bonnie Engle and her husband, Bob.  Also, a very special family friend, Rhonda Hiser who has always been there for our mama.  The family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers.

Janet’s wishes were for a private family service and will take place at a later date.
