Jean Allen Cobb

Jean Allen Cobb, 96 years young, went to begin her life in her heavenly home on September 15th at Silvercrest Health & Rehabilitation Center in Crestview, FL. She was born to Charlie & Josie Allen in Baker, FL on February 11, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Robert L. Cobb Sr; Sisters, Margarete Shelby and Juanita Canterbury; Brother, Mac Allen; Grandson, Jonathan Berry and son-in-law, Sam Brunson. Jean leaves behind her seven children and their spouses, Betty Brunson, Linda Maloy, Patsy Cobb, Judy & Mike Fowler, Bob & Bobbie Cobb, Jan & Ken Blocker, and Terry & Chuck Thames; Twin brother, Jack Allen; more grandchildren & great grands than you can shake a stick at; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jean’s hobbies included working in her yard, sewing, and cooking. The family will always reminisce about her favorite meal to prepare, Turkey & Dressing. She taught Sunday School at Shady Grove Church for over 42 years. You rarely saw Jean without a smile on her face. God blessed her to be able to devote her entire life to her family. While the family is grieving the passing of Ms. Jean, they know that Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.  The family invites you to a visitation at Shady Grove Church, 1189 Shady Grove Church Road, Baker, FL on Thursday, September 19th from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm with Bro. David Harlson and Bro. Phillip Polk officiating. Jean will rest next to her husband in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Shalit, the North Okaloosa Medical Center staff, the Silvercrest Nursing Home staff, and caregiver Juanita Mims for the wonderful care you gave our mother in her final days. We thank you for the peace and comfort you gave us as we said “Until we see you again” to the best mother in the world.
