Jewell S. Ludlam, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home. She was born in Laurel Hill, Florida to Jesse V. and Malsie Sanders on February 28, 1924. Jewell attended Holiness and Assembly of God Churches throughout her life. She loved gardening, painting, cooking, and art. She retired after 42 years as a Payroll Supervisor at Franklin-Ferguson Factory in Florala, Alabama. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olin Ludlam; siblings, Jean Sapp, Thelma Killingsworth, and Elmer Sanders; and her niece by marriage, Dorothy Walthers.
She was survived by her daughter, Leisa D. Ludlam; nephews, George Sanders, Rick Sanders, Mike Sapp, Greg Killingsworth, Bobby Killingsworth, and Billy Killingsworth; nieces, Glenda Gordon and Dewana Johnson; and her first cousin, Mac Sanders.
A time of visitation will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 30, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery immediately after the funeral service.
