Jimmy Pitts Obituary

Jimmy Donald Pitts, age 84, passed away on August 27, 2020. He was born on November 4,1935 to Mary Ester and Jessie James Pitts in Bonifay, Florida. He served in the United States Air Force for 13 years. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers serving Crestview, Florida for over thirty years working for Centel/MCI Sprint. Jim was a deacon of North Central Assembly of God and led the Sunday school and choir with enthusiasm and joy. He enjoyed singing and reading scripture. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and hunting. Jim loved raising his chickens and time with his beloved dog, Butch. He was a strong, fine Christian, and excellent father and husband, and an example of what a Godly man should be. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruth Johnson Pitts; and siblings, Annie Bea Whitacker, Doyle Carlton Pitts, Johnie Pitts, Vertilee Faile, and Bonard Franklin Pitts.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Pitts; sons, Rocky Pitts (Gloria), Eddy Pitts (Laura), Kelly Pitts (Jane), and Larry Pitts (Sharon); sister, Mary Leavins; grandchildren, Jesse, Joshlynn, Jimmy, Justice, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Curtis Pitts; and two great grandchildren.
