John Disty

John Joseph Disty (1940-2024)

John Disty, 84 of Crestview, Florida, passed peacefully at home on June 27, 2024.

He was born in Los Angeles, California in 1940 to Mike and Rose Disty. John enjoyed running, mountaineering / mountain climbing, and practiced kendo. John served in the United States Army and retired from the United States Army Reserve. He continued on in his career as a printing press repair man for AB Dick. John met Barbara Ann Gertz in San Fransisco, California, they married and had a son, Robert Disty.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Disty.

He is survived by his son, Robert Disty of Crestview, Florida; granddaughter, Alana Disty of Crestview, Florida; sister, Stella Diaz (Joseph), nieces Audrey Dow (Stephen) and Nadia Funn (Kyle) both of Los Angeles, California; with multiple great nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home at 8:30am on July 2nd , 2024 followed by a graveside service held at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach, Florida at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate that  donations been made to any animal rescue in Johns Honor.
