John Frances McCormick Obituary

John “Bookie” Francis McCormick, 85, of Crestview, Florida, passed away on June 10, 2026. Born on August 3, 1940, he lived a life marked by faith, service, and an unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

Bookie proudly served in the United States Air Force, carrying the values of duty and integrity with him long after his military years. He later retired as an Electrical Engineer from Graphic Packaging, where his steady hands and sharp mind earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.

A man who loved the Lord with all his heart, Bookie lived his faith through action. His integrity was impeccable—if he said he would help you, he did. He found joy in serving others, never hesitating to lend his time, his tools, or his strength to anyone who needed it. His family knew him as a steady presence, a man whose word was as solid as the ground he walked on.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy McCormick. He is survived by his children, Kalvin McCormick, Kenneth McCormick, and Kelly McCormick Murphy; and by his grandchildren, Michael McCormick, Bryan Tyler Day, and Jonathan Murphy as well as a great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of his kindness, his work ethic, and his quiet, dependable love.

Bookie’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched—through his service, his generosity, and the gentle strength of his character. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with Dorothy and resting in the presence of the Lord he cherished.
