John A. McLendon III (Trey)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John A. McLendon III, affectionately known as Trey, on the evening of November 29, 2025, at the age of 58. Trey was born on December 30, 1966, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late John (Buck) A. McLendon Jr. and Margaret McLendon. A lifelong resident of Crestview, Trey touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Trey was a kind and gentle soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved painting with vibrant colors that reflected his unique perspective on the world. He loved doing puzzles, watching tv and playing in the water outdoors. His most cherished moments were spent with those he loved, his family and his friends at Pyramids and the Irani Group Home, where he formed lifelong friendships and bonds.

Trey is survived by his devoted mother, Margaret McLendon; his siblings, Eric McLendon (and wife Michelle), Lacey Williamson (and husband Eron), and Derek McLendon (and his partner Deanna); and his beloved nieces and nephews, Taylor Brown, Patrick McLendon, Cameron Williamson, and Gage Williamson. He is also survived by his uncle, Joe Moore, and a host of cousins and extended family.

Trey's presence will be missed dearly, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Trey is now at peace, reunited with his father and surrounded by the love of all who passed before him. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of sharing his life.

A visitation will be held on December 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with graveside services to be held at Live Oak Park Cemetery.
